ILM AL-HÂL
57 Hazrat Imâm Abû Mansûr Al-Mâturîdî رحمــة الل عليــه was born in 280 A.H. (894 A.C) in the village of Maturid of the city of Samarkand in Turkestan. He passed away in Samarkand in 333 A.H. (945 A.C). Hazrat Imâm Abûl Hasan Al-Ash’arî was born in the city of Basra, Iraq in 260 A.H. (873 A.C) and passed away in Baghdad in 324 A.H. (936 A.C). THE RIGHTEOUS MADHÂHIB (SCHOOLS) in A’MÂL (DEEDS) The Madhâhib (schools) of Ahl Al-Sunnah wa’l-Jamâ’ah in A’mâl (action) are four: 1. The Hanafî Madhhab: The imâm (leader) of this Madhhab is Imâm A’zam Abû Hanîfah رحمــة الل عليــه . His name is Nu’mân and his father’s name is Thâbit. He was born in Kûfa in 80 A.H. (699 C.E.) and passed away in Baghdâd in 150 A.H. (767 C.E.). 2. The Mâlîkî Madhhab: The imâm (leader) of this Madhhab is ImâmMâlik Ibn Anas, who was born inMadînah Al-Munawwarah in 93 A.H. (711 C.E.) and passed away in Madînah Al-Munawwarah in 179 A.H. (795 C.E.) 3. The Shafi’î Madhhab: The imâm (leader) of this Madhhab is Imâm Muhammad Ibn Idrîs Al-Shafi’î. He was born in Ghazza in 150 A.H. (767 C.E.) and passed away in Egypt in 204 A.H. (819 C.E.). 4. The Hanbalî Madhhab: The imâm (leader) of this Madhhab is Imâm Ahmad Ibn Hanbal, who was born in
