ILM AL-HÂL
47 argument shakes the center of Îmân (faith). That was not a day to object. Each and every soul willingly/unwillingly made sajdah to the Creator. Allâh our Rabb تعالــى called all the souls and asked them: "Alastu bi Rabbikum?" (Am I not your Rabb?) All the souls, without any exceptions, replied together, "Balâ!" (Yes, indeed! You are our Rabb!). In this way, they all declared their faithfulness to Allâh تعالى . Some others say: "Whatever you do, Allâh gives Hidâyah (guidance) to whomever He wishes and he gives Dhalâlah (corruption) to whomever he wishes”. This claim is no way acceptable, either. Most people misinterpret the Âyah (verse) regarding this matter. Hazrat Abûl Fârûq Sulaymân Hilmi Tunahan قــدس ســره (Silistrawî) has interpreted and explained the related Âyah (verse) as follows: "Allâh Ta’âlâ bestows Hidâyah (guidance) to those who ask for it and He gives Dhalâlah (corruption) to those who ask for it.” He further explained: "There is no such divine decree as ‘Ahmad is for Jannah (heaven) and Mahmûd is for Jahannam (hell).’ Actually, the clothings (gown for Îmân, obedience and nûr [light] ) were sewn and presented in the world before. It was declared: ‘Whoever chooses to wear these gowns will be admitted in Jannah (paradise).' On the other hand, the clothings (gown for kufr, disbelief, disobedience and darkness) were sewn and presented. It was declared: ‘Whoever chooses to wear these gowns will be admitted in Jahannam (hell).'
