270 Q - How is Sajdah Al-Sahw performed? A - In the final sitting, after reading Tahiyyât and finishing the Salâh by giving Salâm to one side or both sides, one should perform two extra sajdahs and then recite “Attahiyyâtu”, “Allâhumma salli”, “Allâhumma bârik”, and “Rabbana Âtinâ” and finally finish the Salâh by again giving Salâms to both sides. Q - Would you give some examples when Sajdah Al-Sahw is needed? A - 1. If I forget to recite a Sûrah after Fatiha Al-Sharîfah, 2. If I forget to say the second Takbîr (the Qunût Takbîr) while praying Witr Salâh, or forget to read the Qunût Duas (Supplications) or forget both, 3. In a four rakah Fardh Salâh, if I forget to stand up immediately after reciting “Tahiyyât” and instead continue to recite the following first words of the Salawât beginning with “Allâhumma salli ala Muhammadin”. Q - What do we call the nights in which we particularly spend in Ibâdah (worship)? A - We call them the sacred nights. Q - How many sacred nights are there in a year? A- There are five sacred nights in a year: 1. The Night of Mawlid, 2. The Night of Raghâib, 3. The Night of Mi’râj, 4. The Night of Barâ’ah, 5. The Night of Qadr. Q - What is the Night of Mawlid? A - It is the commemoration of the blessed night when our prophet ﷺ was born.
