258 SOME RELIGIOUS QUESTIONS TO A MUSLIM CHILD QUESTION: Are you a Muslim? ANSWER: Alhamdulillâh (Thanks and praise be to Allâh), I am a Muslim. Q - What does it mean to be a Muslim? A - Knowing that there is only one Allâh and accepting the Holy Qur’ân and Prophet Muhammad ﷺ as Allâh’s prophet. Q - Since when have you been a Muslim? A - I have been a Muslim since the time of “Balâ”. Q - What does the time of “Balâ” mean? A - It is a mithaq (covenant). That is, when Allâh Ta’âlâ created all the souls, He asked them: “Am I not your Rabb (Lord)”? They answered “Balâ (Yes), for certain you are our Rabb (Lord).” I have been a Muslim since that time. Q - Who is your Rabb (Lord)? A - Allâh. Q - Who created you? A - Allâh.
