226 11. Theft, 12. Having intoxicating drinks. The minor sins continuously committed become major sins. REMEDY FOR SAVING ONESELF FROM THE SICKNESS OF SIN: REPENTING AND ASKING FOR ALLÂH’S FORGIVENESS Soap and water remove bodily dirt. Similarly, all kinds of spiritual sicknesses and impurities, which darken the heart and lead one to Hell, can be removed by repentance, asking for Allâh’s forgiveness and shedding tears of regret. Humans are created at birth pure and beautiful. “The human heart is created as clear as a mirror.” said Our Prophet ﷺ . If one darkens their heart with doubts, misgivings, trouble making, malice, resentment, revenge and enviousness, such a person has indeed caught a terrible disease. If one cannot get rid of this malicious disease, may Allâh forbid, he might end up in Hell. The way to get rid of it is to repent and ask for Allâh’s forgiveness and additionally to remove all vices, bad intentions and feelings from the heart and shed tears of regret. One should continue repenting and asking for Allâh’s forgiveness to be purified from all sins. One should especially perform Salâh, read Salawât Al-Sharîfah on our Prophet ﷺ and read duas (supplications), especially during the middle of the night and before dawn.
