199 an obligatory part of a Salâh during their journey led by a Muqîm (resident) imâm, such a person then performs the Salâh in full. If the Musâfir (traveller) leads a congregation in a four rakah Fardh Salâh, they perform it in two rakahs. In this case, those of the congregation who are also travellers complete the Salâh like the imâm; however, those who are not travellers stand up for the third rakah and perform the Salâh in full wherein they may recite Sûrah Al-Fâtihah in Qiyâm (the standing position) or not. If they do not recite Sûrah Al-Fâtihah, they wait long enough to read Sûrah Al- Fâtihah, bow down and complete the Salâh. If a traveller intends to stay in a village or a town at least for fifteen days, they are then exempted from the rules of Safar (journeying) and perform all the Salâh (prayers) in full. If a Musâfir (traveller) has not intended to stay in that place for fifteen days and ultimately stays there for months or even for years because of any reason, for instance their business have not yet been completed, they continue to be subject to the rules of travel. As soon as a traveller has returned to their hometown, they are no more subject to the rules of Safar (journeying). No matter how short they stay in their homeland, such a person is regarded as Muqîm (resident) and they perform all the Salâh (prayers) in full. If a traveller has missed any Fardh Salâh during their travel, they perform the four-rakah obligatory parts of their missed Salâh in two rakahs when they have returned to
