180 SALÂH AL-EIDAYN (FESTIVAL PRAYERS) Both of the Eid Salâh are Wâjib (required) for every male Muslim upon whom Jumu’ah Salâh is Wâjib. There are two Eid Salâh: Salâh of Eid Al-Fitr and Eid Al-Adhhâ. The time for both the Eid Salâh (Prayers) begins approximately 45 minutes after sunrise and continues up until the time preceding Zuhr Salâh. Both of them consist of two rakahs and are performed in Jamâ’ah (congregation). Its intention is,”I’ve intended to perform the Eid Salâh before the imâm.” It is performed like the Fardh (obligatory) of the Fajr Salâh with the addition of three Takbîrât in each rakah. The first three Takbîr are said in the first rakah after the dua of Subhânaka (Thanâ) and before Sûrah Al-Fâtihah. The second three are said in the second rakah after the Qirâ’ah (recitation) of the additional Sûrah following Sûrah Al-Fâtihah. These six Takbîr are Wâjib (required). The Takbîr of the Rukû’ (bowing) are also Wâjib (required) as they are close to Wâjib Takbîr in performance. As is the case for every Salâh including the Eid Salâh, Tâkbir Al- Iftitâh (the opening Takbîr) is Fardh (obligatory). The rest of the Takbîr are Sunnah.
